FASD Certified District Managers Program

 The 2017 FASD Certified District Managers Program is scheduled for March 20-24, 2017 in Tallahassee, FL. Attendees will take part in the FASD 2017 Legislative Forum on March 22. Applications are due by Friday, January 27. Late applications will be accepted on a case by case basis.

The purpose of this education program is to ensure that district managers comply with the Florida Statutes governing special districts.  Core subjects special district staff are presented in the program, followed by a written project.  Successful graduates are recognized and awarded their certification each year at the FASD Annual Conference in June. In 2004, the Association, in conjunction with the former Department of Community Affairs (now Department of Economic Opportunity), created the Certified District Manager (CDM) Program and partnered with Florida State University’s Askew School of Government to provide the best possible certification program for this field.  This Program not only recognizes the professional and educational accomplishments of district managers of special districts, but promotes professionalism among the members of this profession.

  • Public Information and Public Relations
  • Strategic Planning and Budgeting
  • Board Relations
  • Ethics and Sunshine Law
  • Collective Bargaining
